Virgin Group´s airlines considered to be one of the most luxurious airlines in the world. It operates continental flights from London to Norteamérica, the Caribbean, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Australia. It was established in 1982 in the UK and its present operating bases are situated in London Heathrow airport and Gatwick airport.
The company´s first flights were to the Faulclands. Then, in 1984 Richard Branson bought the company starting flights to the U.S.A. the same year with a single Boeing 747-200.
5.3 million passengers were carried by Virgin in 2011which makes the company U.K.´s eight largest as far as passengers are concerned.
Since the establishing of Virgin Australia as a part of the Virgin Group in 2000, the story has been only one of progress and success. Here are the main achievements and advancements only in the year 2012:
