Myer is a department store chain with a huge range of merchandise such as footwear, women's clothing, men's clothing, children's clothing, accessories, fragrances, home supplies, furniture, electrical supplies, books, food, etc. Myer's founder was Sidney Myer who was a Russian migrant and is remembered as a retail visionary and one of the greatest philanthropists in Australia. The first Myer store opened in Bendigo in 1900. Today Myer has 65 stores in Australia and is a retail leader. Today the Chairman of the Board of Directors is Paul McClintock who was appointed as a non-executive director in August 2012.
